Johnson Funeral Home has been serving Elkin area families since 1967. We are honored to be a part of the rich history of this community and plan to be a part of it for many years to come.

Joe Royal Johnson, came to work at the funeral Home in 1957 , while it was Warren-Miller-Funeral Home. Ten years later Joe bought the business and operated until he passed in 2004. Joe graduated from the H.E. Dolan College of Mortuary Science in Philadelphia. He also served in the United States Army during World War II and Also during Korean War. He was a member of the Elkin Masonic Lodge.






Joe’s daughter, Molli Jo Johnson-Hanks came to work full time with her dad in 1999 when he was diagnosed with Leukemia, which she grew up in the funeral home so to her she was a home here. Molli Jo went back to school to get her Funeral Directors licenses 2000, so she would be able to caring on her fathers Funeral Home and his legacy.








Molli Jo is married to Johnny Hanks, She has identical twin Boys, Drew Johnson & Rebecca, Cory Johnson & Anna, step-daughter, Bridget Adams, three grandchildren Kilee, Aaron and Maci and of course she loves her dog, Maximillian, a standard Poodle and 2 Dachshund, Manhattan and Milan.

Molli Jo also serves on the Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital Foundation Board.
